The day was founded by FAO (the Food and Agricultural Organisation of the UN) in 2001 and it offers an opportunity to celebrate all aspects of milk. This year more than 35 countries take part and have arranged various activities to honour milk in all its forms and shapes. The day also provides a possibility to focus attention on milk and the milk industry as a whole.
